I woke up on a Saturday morning and I went through my email in an attempt to clear my inbox. As I scrolled through, I saw an email of something other than an advertisement. I opened it up and clicked on a link for a survey. After a few minutes I was finished. I then downloaded a new book that I added to my ever-growing digital library.
So how did I, within minutes, earn a free book? I should also say, a really good book.
A while back I received an email for the opportunity to join the Christian Book Insiders. By giving my opinion on upcoming products, I could receive free books and other digital goods.
They had me at free books.
I took a profile survey that lasted about 5 minutes. Afterward, I received confirmation that I was in.
About once a week, on average, I get an email with the opportunity to take a survey. After completing a survey, I get a download of a free book or another type of book related item. More on this later.
The surveys usually last no longer than 5 minutes. The questions are all about your preferences on a certain book or books.
After the survey is over, you will get a page with the downloads they promised in the email. Some surveys do not have free downloads. I still like to do these because I’m still interested in what books they have in the works.
All of they books I have received are very popular and widely read. I have even written about some of these books here.
In addition to free books, i have received coloring and activity pages for the kids.
Not all downloads are complete books. Some books come in stages. For example: one survey may have chapters 1 – 10, while the second survey has the remaining chapters 11 – 20. Also, some downloads are a sneak peek of an upcoming book. I must say though, I don’t get these all too often.
I am amazed at the value I get from just giving my opinion. The best surveys, from other providers, will pay up to a few dollars for a lengthy survey. With Christian Book Insiders I can get an entire book for a 5 minute survey.
As far as the downloads are concerned, they come in pdf format. Most devices have an application that reads pdf format. What I like to do, though, is import them into Google Play Books. They become part of my library and are saved on the cloud. This way I can access them from all other devices.
This is a great service and I only wish there were more out there like this. If there is, please let me know in the comments.
